Q-Lit Book Swap

12th April. 12pm - 3pm.
Sabby Gallery, 60 Leicester Street  Carlton.

Clean out some well loved books and get the chance to discuss them with other readers, offer them a new home and swap these books amongst like minded peers. A few other activities, such as a craft station, will be set up if you don’t have something to swap!

Moonee Ponds Writers Group

6 – 8pm every second Wednesday of the month in meeting room 2 at the Sam Merrifield Library.

Facilitator Linnea Burdon-Smith leads these monthly sessions, inviting LGBTQIA+ writers and allies to share ideas and get words on the page. Many thanks to the Moonee Valley City Council for funding this group.

Cranbourne Writers Group

6:30 - 8:30pm every second Wednesday of the month at the Balla Balla Community Centre.

Join facilitator Tara Eldrett for monthly gatherings that spark creativity and connection, giving queer writers and allies space to share and grow. Big love to the City of Casey for funding this group.

Orbost Writers Group

Co-Producer of Q-Lit's Orbost Writers Retreat, Bumpy Favell, will be hosting monthly catch-ups in the wonderful Orbost Arts Centre. Open to LGBTQIA+ creatives and allies to express their creativity. 
This group has generously been funded by the Gippsland Community Foundation.

The Orbost Writers Retreat was a magical weekend celebrating regional LGBTQIA+ storytelling! Writers connected over inspiring workshops and local food, building lasting peer networks that combat isolation. A huge thank you to the Gippsland Community Foundation for funding this vital space and empowering East Gippsland's creative resilience.

Q-Lit Naarm Festival 2025 brought queer stories to life across Melbourne’s inner suburbs with a week-long celebration of words, community, and creativity. Over 7 days in 7 venues, the festival featured 14 events showcasing 91 writers and welcomed 1,556 guests to panels, performances, and playful gatherings, making it our biggest and boldest festival yet.

Day of Books

Partnering with Hares & Hyenas at the Victorian Pride Centre for the Queer Book Fair and panel: Queer Books that Shaped Generations.

Masterclass Series

Presented at the Kathleen Syme Centre with sessions from Amie Kaufman, Reimena Yee and Claire G. Coleman.

Researching Our Culture

At the Library at the Dock we brought together leading researchers exploring queer culture, history, and literature.

Afternoon of Stories

Fringe Common Rooms was brought to life with the panel: Write or Wrong: Living through Capitalism, and the storytellers showcase.

Comedy Sesh

Taking over Evies Diner Disco for the panel: Drag Race vs. the Stories We Need, and our comedy showcase, Gag Reflex.

Evening Romance

In the west we joined Kindred Studios where we hosted the panel: Non-Binary and Bisexual Romance, and some adults only poetry
